Congo/Venezuela: Need to involve Venezuelan tour operators in the tourism platform

BRAZZAVILLE, JULY 2 (ACI) – The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to Congo, Ms. Laura Evangelia Suàrez, recently stressed in Brazzaville the need to involve Venezuelan tour operators in the exchange platform of the “Nabemba Tourism Expo 2025 (Nte)”, in order to explore the modalities of participation of her country.

She spoke at the end of an audience granted to the delegation of the organizing structure “Wild Safari Tours”. The 1st edition of the International Tourism Fair “Nabemba Tourism Expo 2025”, initiated as part of the preparations. Ms. Laura Evangelia noted the need to mobilize the diplomatic corps around cross-cutting causes such as the environment and sustainable tourism, in order to include modules on climate, environmental protection and training in tourism professions.

In this regard, the two parties discussed concrete prospects, particularly the organization of cleaning and ecological awareness campaigns, the involvement of youth through professional training geared towards the tourism sector, and the development of a long-term partnership between educational and cultural institutions of the two countries.

The National Coordinator of Nte-2025, Mr. Emerancy Francel Ibalank, stated that the main objective of this working session is to explore the modalities of Venezuela’s participation in this major event, as a strategic partner, and to consider avenues for bilateral cooperation in the areas of tourism, environment, education and cultural diplomacy.

Indeed, he insisted on the desire to register this event under the theme: “The promotion of the tourist potential of the Congo Basin and South-South cooperation, in a dynamic of transcontinental cooperation, based on the sharing of experiences and the development of respective tourist assets.

To this end, he highlighted the strategic interest of associating the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela with this initiative, due to its experience in tourism development, based on the diversity of its landscapes, its ecological wealth, its artistic manifestations and its favorable climate. Strategic meeting for the Nabemba Tourism Expo 2025!

The Ministry of the Environment, Sustainable Development, and the Congo Basin, in partnership with Wild Safari Tours, held a working meeting on Tuesday, June 24, to discuss the first edition of the Nabemba Tourism Expo, scheduled for 2025.

The focus of the discussions was to make Congo a destination of choice for sustainable and responsible tourism. The Brazza Mall site was chosen to host this major event, thanks to its modern infrastructure that meets international standards.

A strong environmental dimension is at the heart of the event: the Ministry was invited to lead a panel on climate and sustainable development, in connection with current issues in the Congo Basin.

The project’s CEO, with extensive experience in the African tourism sector, embodies credible leadership to lead this first edition.

The Organizing Committee accelerates mobilization

The Organizing Committee of the Nabemba Tourism Expo (NTE) International Tourism Fair met this Wednesday, June 18, 2025, in the meeting room of the Ministry of Cultural, Tourism, Arts, and Leisure Industry, continuing its preparations for this major event in Congolese and regional tourism.

The focus of the discussions was the allocation of booths and setting prices, the progress of discussions with local sponsors, and confirmation of the participation of the Dzanga Sangha (CAR), Nouabalé-Ndoki, and Conkouati-Douli National Parks, key partners in promoting biodiversity.

To this end, the committee’s upcoming trip to Pointe-Noire was announced. This strategic mission aims to personally deliver invitations, solicit sponsorship from local businesses, and mobilize key stakeholders in the tourism industry.

The Organizing Committee thanks all the partners and sponsors involved and reaffirms its ambition to make the NTE a flagship event on the African tourism calendar.
